Cleaning Tips for Your Kitchen

People all around the country face similar cleaning issues as I do down here in Henfield. They are common issues that can be easily solved using quite simple household solutions I hope to share these with you today.

Gas cooker hobs for me can be some of the hardest stains to remove as they are generally burnt stains, but I will show you how to remove these hard stains in one of two ways.

Tools Cleaning Home

One of the best known cleaners that has been around for years is bleach and is very useful for removing stubborn stains and if you leave bleach in around the burner (when off) for about 20-30 minutes this will remove 99% of the stains. Most people are very nervous using bleach due to the stains it can cause to clothing.

As most people do not like bleach I sometimes use a mix of 50/50 biological washing powder and baking soda mixed with water, the baking soda helps remove any odours and leaves a nice fresh smell. If you leave this on the stains for about 30 minutes and wipe off with warm water, you will find this will remove the majority of the stains.

Biological washing powder and water mixed into a thick paste and spread onto the stains and left for about 20-30 minutes will normally take off 99% of all known stains. To leave the kitchen smelling nice and fresh I normally take half a lemon and wipe the area I have just cleaned then remove with a dry cloth.

For fridge rubbers you can use disinfectant followed by warm water, do you always notice it is the groove in the middle of the rubber seal that collects most of the dirt.

A cleaner in Henfield once showed be a great way for removing the dirt in fridge rubbers, by using a whitening toothpaste and a toothbrush around this area was by far the most effective cleaner I know of. The brush got right down into the deepest areas, unfortunately whitening toothpaste contains bleach so you always have to make sure you clean the area with warm water as if the paste is left on the bleach in the toothpaste will rot the rubber.

I could not believe a tip I picked up from a cleaner in Henfield who told me to use furniture polish on the surface of fridge doors, before that however clean the door with lemon and water to remove existing stains. The light application of furniture polish actually helps avoid common stains from sticking to the door and makes them nice and easy to clean off.

It just goes to show that ordinary household cleaners that you already have in your cupboard can make life easy such as cleaning stains off the outside of your fridge door.

I Hope these tips from the cleaners in Henfield work for you as well as they have worked for me.
